Overall Ulster Bank Business Achiever Award 2011
Having already won the Ulster heat of the International Business category, TG Eakin Ltd went on to win the All-Ireland award for Internationl Business as well being crowned the Best Overall Company at the Ulster Bank Business Achiever Awards 2011. This was an absolute honour given the fact that over 360 companies had applied for the awards process and considering the exceptional achievements of the other finalists.
During the awards process the judges were most interested in what makes the business unique and our plans for the future. They were, therefore, very impressed with the current factory expansion which will result in job creation, increased production levels and improve our ability to develop new products in order to maintain and hopefully increase our market share.

IOD Family Business Director of the Year Award 2011
On Friday 23rd September 2011 Tom Eakin was awarded ‘Family Business Director of the Year’ as well as runner-up in the ‘Overall Director of the Year’ at the UK IoD Director of the Year Awards 2011.
Open to directors from across the business spectrum, the IoD Director of the Year Awards UK selects regional winners from across the UK to then compete for the overall title. So having won the Northern Ireland award for ‘Family Business Director of the Year’ back in December 2010, Tom was then shortlisted for the UK award.
Given the current economic conditions, the judges were looking for individuals who have continued to prosper. They were most impressed with how Tom has developed the Eakin Group of Companies from a manufacturing start-up in 1974 to a 4 company organisation employing more than 200 people.

Ulster Bank Business Achievers Award for International Business 2011
On 26th January 2012 TG Eakin Ltd were awarded the Ulster International Business Award at a special ceremony to celebrate the 2011 Ulster Bank Business Achievers Awards.
The Awards recognise the outstanding contribution made by companies and entrepreneurs to the Irish economy across all industry sectors. The judges looked at a variety of factors including financial performance, company milestones and achievements, future strategy for the business and development of innovative products and services. The judges were most impressed with how Eakin performed across all areas and in particular the success of our export strategy.
The company will now go forward to represent Ulster in the All-Ireland awards process, taking place later this year.

Nursing Times Product Awards 2010
On November 3rd 2010 at a prestigious ceremony in London, TG Eakin Ltd were delighted to receive the Gold Prize in the ‘Continence and Stoma Care’ category of the Nursing Times Product Awards for the highly innovative Cohesive Paste®.
The awards were set up to recognise and reward the products that are transforming patient care and helping healthcare professionals work efficiently.
The judges felt that Eakin Cohesive Paste® successfully delivered in these areas. A unique alcohol free stoma paste, it helps protect peristomal skin, prevent leakage and increase comfort and security.

Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category 2010
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise honour the UK’s highest achieving companies. In 2010 TG Eakin Ltd were extremely proud to receive this accolade, which we will hold until 2015. Commenting on the achievement, Jeremy Eakin said, “We are delighted to receive this award - it is a great tribute to our company and the dedication of our work force and confirms our continuing success despite a challenging economic environment. Our turnover increased by over 30% last year and we anticipate further growth of 15% in the coming year. We are also planning the construction of a factory extension which will double the size of our premises, securing the future of more than 50 jobs and creating further employment.”

Best Small/Medium Company in the Belfast Telegraph NI Business Awards 2010
In March 2010 TG Eakin Ltd were awarded the ‘Best Small/ Medium Company’ title in the Belfast Telegraph NI Business Awards. Ann McGregor, Chief Executive of Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and member of the judging panel, remarked, “Companies in the SME Category are superb role models of the type of entrepreneurial, innovative and export driven business that Northern Ireland needs for faster economic growth. I am confident that these companies will go on to become industry leaders and thereby encourage others to follow the trails they are blazing”. TG Eakin Ltd was also commended in two further categories, ‘Business Team of the Year’ and ‘Exporting Achievement’.

‘Ones to Recognise’ in The Sunday Times Profit Track 100 for 2010
In 2010 TG Eakin Ltd were earmarked as ‘One to Recognise’ for the future in The Sunday Times Profit Track 100 companies, compiled by PWC.
The Profit Track 100, measures companies’ profit growth over their last three financial years and offers a snapshot of some of Britain’s best-performing private firms in tough trading conditions.
Although not quite meeting the criteria to make the Top 100 list, Eakin caught the eye of the judges after significant increases in turnover since 2007.

Deloitte Best Managed Company 2010
TG Eakin Ltd has been named as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies in the prestigious Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards. The judging panel reviewed every aspect of business performance from capability and commitment to financial performance and growth potential. The judges remarked, “The winning companies are an inspiration for all Irish companies by managing to show great focus and dedication in what has been a difficult year. To be chosen as a winner is testament to the sound management practices that are being implemented across the entire business”.

International Award in the UTV Business Eye Awards 2007
At a celebration honouring Northern Ireland’s top business organisations, TG Eakin Ltd were delighted to receive the International Award at the UTV Business Eye Awards. Managing Director Jeremy Eakin commented on the achievement, “Such awards are recognition of the company’s success, which is entirely due to the excellent efforts of everyone in the company.”

Belfast Telegraph NI Business Awards 2007, Highly Commended in Exporting Achievement
When TG Eakin Ltd was Highly Commended in Exporting Achievement at this awards ceremony, it was noted that the company were exporting 99.5% of its products outside Northern Ireland. The company’s recent acquisition of Pelican Healthcare Ltd in Cardiff further illustrated the company’s strategy for growth.
The judges were impressed by TG Eakin Ltd’s development and maintenance of a product, which competitors have been unable to match in quality and performance.

Export Award for Smaller Businesses 2000, Northern Ireland Winner
In association with Trade Partners UK, the Export Awards for Smaller Businesses recognise companies who have excelled in export in the last year. Despite such small beginnings, after 9 years TG Eakin Ltd were gradually increasing their distribution base throughout Europe and the USA and this award was in recognition of that effort.

ParcelForce Worldwide Small Business Awards 1999 Northern Ireland Winner & Export Winner
In recognition of outstanding achievement, TG Eakin Ltd were presented with the ParcelForce Worldwide Small Business Award for Export and also the overall award for the Northern Ireland region. A representative from Parcelforce Worldwide said that the awards were an excellent way to recognise and encourage businesses.
